Geetha Rao, Ph.D., CEO

Dr. Geetha Rao is a experienced medical device and biotechnology professional who is well-versed in all aspects of early stage ventures, including formation, acceleration, organizational development, and regulatory and technology strategy. She has consulted internationally in the medical device and other high-risk industries addressing issues of high corporate exposure.
Formerly, Dr. Rao was President and CEO of Norgren Systems, a drug-discovery instrumentation company whose assets were acquired by AEI, Inc. previously she has consulted to most major medical device companies as well as numerous smaller ones. She was with Exponent, Inc for nearly 11 years where she founded the Medical Device Industry Group and later with John Cabot International, a firm providing technology and strategy consulting in global and cross-border operations, where she was the partner responsible for medical devices and healthcare. She has also provided training and consulted to physicians, surgeons, other medical professionals; regulatory professionals from the FDA and international bodies; venture and investment professionals, and attorneys. She has addressed numerous industry forums and the press.

Dr. Rao serves on the board of the ASQ Northern California Biomedical Discussion Group. chairs the MIT/Stanford Venture Lab’s Emerging Business Track for Life Sciences, is guest faculty on Stanford University’s Biodesign Innovation Program, and serves on the Life Sciences Committee for Astia, the leading organization supporting women-founded and women-led start-ups, and as advisor to several non-profits.
Dr. Rao holds a doctorate in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. She was a registered professional Mechanical and Civil Engineer with the State of California
